Luna and I went for a neighborhood hike today near my mother’s house on Earl Slate Road. We followed down the road that led toward Dunbar Cave State Park and made our way to an extended nature trail in land recently acquired by the park.
The trail was soft, still saturated from the precipitation we’d gotten during January. But the leaves were plentiful and provided traction. During our hike, it began to snow. Not much, and not very heavy, but enough to make for a dramatic walk through the woods.
I made my way to a sink hole if seen earlier from the road. I’d hoped to get a couple of good pictures of Luna and show her the sort of stuff I played in as a kid. However, an easy slip on the soft Tennessee mud and a quick slide down a short incline before I caught a thin tree to stop me made question whether I needed to be playing around a sink hole.
