A walk along part of Jenny Lake Trail. The Jenny Lake Trail is a 7.1-mile loop hike that circles Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. It’s a popular trail known for its stunning views of the lake and the Teton Range. We had been at the parking lot for this trailhead since early in the morning, stargazing and taking night photography. Once the parking lot was full and the trail was populated, we decided to venture out a little ways in either direction to enjoy some of the views and visit Jenny Lake one final time.On our last day in Grand Teton National Park we were lucky enough to see a bear. It was a cinnamon-colored black bear and they drew quite the crowd. The park road clogged up for a while. This is a cultural norm for parks with this kind of wildlife we would come to find out. The event was brief for us. Maybe half an hour passed from the time we stopped till the time the bear crossed the road, arguably the climax of the event. And though they stayed in sight for some time after, we moved on.
I’m a native Houstonian. A life of traveling has led me to see my city in a new light, with a perspective I couldn’t have enjoyed before. Houston is so much more than a burgeoning metropolis borne on the banks of a bayou. Her arts, culture, food scene, and diversity make her a standout city. With Highlight Houston I want to focus on the qualities that make the city unique unto herself.
